Location: A Photographic Exploration

June 19 - August 14, 2024Crutchfield Gallery

Through the lens of documentary-style photography, this exhibition examines the notion of a "sense of place" as seen through the eyes of diverse perspectives. Each image serves as a testament to the sensibilities and interpretations of the participating students, showcasing their individual narratives and distinct artistic approaches.

Over a span of four months, students from Fine Arts Center's photography program explored the idea of place, traversing both physical landscapes and the essence of belonging. Their images serve as windows into worlds both familiar and unknown, challenging us to reconsider our perceptions of the environments we inhabit and the communities we belong to.

The Fine Arts Center of Greenville, South Carolina (The "FAC") was established in August 1974 as the first specialized arts school in the state of South Carolina. Classes are available at the Center for students to study theatre, music, visual arts, dance, creative writing, and film and video production.

Participating Artists: Addisen Yarrow, Aidan Hogan, Hadiyah Seabrook, Jessica Spott, Katerina Sanchez, Kaylen Jones, Lee-Amanda Sangronis, Lily Caligan-Gilliam, Lily McKay, Mary Grace Hathaway, Rebecca Bouvier, Selah Impson
