Beginning August 1, 2020, all Spartanburg County Public Library locations are open Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Patrons may check out materials and pick up holds. All locations will offer express internet services and free printing.
The SparkSpace makerspace at Headquarters Library will open August 3 by appointment only.If you wish to make an appointment, please call Information Services at 864-596-3505.
Notary services resumed July 6 where available.
The Headquarters Library also resumed processing passport applications by appointment only on July 6. This will only be for routine new or renewal applications, with no immediate/specific travel date. Expect significant delays in processing. Due to COVID-19, no expedited processing will be offered. We cannot provide a specific update on when you will receive your new passport or when your citizenship documents will be returned. Masks will be required. If you still wish to make an appointment, please call Information Services at 864-596-3505.
The Kennedy Room of Local History and Genealogy will be open for limited in person research appointments lasting one hour. To schedule an appointment, please contact the Kennedy Room staff at least 24 hours in advance at 864-596-3508 or you can use our Contact Us form and select the Kennedy Room department to schedule your appointment. Our staff will pull your requested materials prior to your appointment time so that you can make the most of your hour long appointment. No more than 2 researchers per appointment.
