Teen Read Week

October 1st - 31st

Teen Read Week takes place each October to highlight the fantastic resources available at the library and to encourage teens to read. At SCPL, we celebrate it for the whole month! This year’s theme is “Unleash Your Story” and we’re holding three fun contests just for teens.

  • Design a Bookmark Contest: Create a bookmark featuring the TRW theme text, “Unleash Your Story.” The winning design will be professionally printed and distributed at all SCPL locations (and the winner’s school library), and the artist will receive a $100 gift card of their choice!

  • Candy Counting Contest: Visit your local SCPL location to view the candy jar and take a guess. The teen who guesses the closest (or correctly!) will walk away with all the candy!

  • Unleash Your Story: Mini Epic Poem Contest: Write a narrative poem about the adventures and accomplishments of a real or fictional hero of yours. The winning poem will be published on our website and distributed in print. The winner will receive a $100 Barnes & Noble gift card! Poems must be 1,000 words or fewer.

For official contest rules, templates, or more details about Teen Read Week, contact the Teen Department at (864) 596-3506 or teens@infodepot.org! Winners for all contests will be announced in November.
